Rocklands Association for Development
RAD is a nonprofit created by locals, conservationists and climbers.
It was initiated by climbers in 2017, in order make sure that the collective impact of climbing was positive. Why? Every winter, Rocklands is transformed. Climbers outnumber locals (by a lot). This creates many opportunities but also significant challenges.
Now largely run by locals, with consultation and participation from climbers during climbing season; their mission is simple: Activate the climbing community around social and environmental projects that will help Rocklands thrive.
